Don't you just love the colour of this smoothie? This has dragon fruit, bananas, passion fruit, organic oat milk and lots of spirulina powder. I thought the best way to hide the dark green colour of spirulina is the match it with the rich purple of dragon fruit. I don't know about you but a tall glass of dark green slush doesn't quite work as eye candy for me...especially when it's mixed with some red or yellow fruit! Then its dark green brown slush...shudder shudder.. ;) My other recipes have a lot less spirulina in them. With this one, I doubled the amount. Best way to get this awesome superfood into your tummy - in a yummy purple shake! Barney is done proud here I say!
Purple Spirulina Smoothie Recipe
1 large purple dragon fruit - skin removed, cubed *
3-4 chunks of frozen banana
2 passion fruit - pulp only
1 heaped tbs of organic spirulina powder
1/2 cup organic oat milk
* Next time I will freeze the dragon fruit to give it a bit more body..came out a little more runny than I would like
One happy customer :)
The purple DOES make it look yummy! =)
